When we first started with Intake Authority, we knew we would be in for a long build. The goal was to come into a market and do it better and more streamlined than the masses. That would prove to be a challenge, but we accepted! Being that while the site was a segment of the automotive aftermarket, it still covered a vast range of vehicles not typically put together in a single website. This with an estimated 250K+ Sku count, we knew categories, filters & the Year Make Model finder needed to be very specific, but easy to navigate. Now most clients would not think of WordPress as their platform on a project this large, but we knew this was the best placement for our automations, API’s integrations, Site speed and SEO capabilities.
Hurdles & Challenges
How many brands does a typical e-comm site have? what about categories? And now filters? We knew the Intake Authority site would have many of each and an additional YMM finder as they cover everything from diesel trucks to corvettes & dirt bikes to ATV’s.
This required much pre-planning and setup, but once set we were off to building, Yep, we do that too! We began sourcing data from sources like ASAP Network and manufacturers direct, but went as far as we could to get the most detailed information available. We designed easy to use PDP’s with videos, variable options and also decided we would develop an app for a little graphic visualization. This will be available soon to the WordPress app store.
